Mingchi Forest Recreation Area

The Mingchi Forest Recreation Area is located at the junction of Datong Township in Yilan County and Fuxing District in Taoyuan City. Also known as "Chihduan", it is an artificial high-mountain lake. Surrounded by dense primeval forests and perpetually shrouded in mist and fog, it presents a hazy and enchanting scenery, earning it the reputation of "Pearl of the Northern Cross-Island Highway", and is an excellent place for forest bathing. Within the park, ancient-style architectural landscapes have been designed based on the concept of classical Chinese gardens. Additionally, there are attractions such as the Mingchi Nursery, Moss Garden, Fern Garden, Forest Trails, and the National Father's Birthday Memorial Forest Park. Furthermore, along both sides of the hillside paths, there are terraced seedling cultivation areas. Walking along the sloping paths, visitors can overlook the beautiful scenery of the high-mountain wilderness and appreciate the natural charm of various flowers.
