Blue Bay Coastal Recreation Area (Yanliao Beach Park) spans 80 hectares, making it the largest recreational spot on the Northeast Coast. Its golden coastline, stretching 3 kilometers to Fulong, is unparalleled across Taiwan and is ideal for diverse activities such as swimming, sand sculpting, beach volleyball, and beach fishing. Yanliao was the primary landing site for the Japanese during their rule of Taiwan. An 8.8-meter-tall "Yanliao Anti-Japanese Monument" stands by the beach, commemorating the brave patriots and martyrs who resisted the Japanese landing in the past, inspiring solemn reflection. The area is well-equipped with public facilities. In the future, it will connect with Fulong to form a complete recreational zone, featuring scenic platforms, walking trails, and bike paths, offering various recreational options even when not swimming.
