Nanya

Nanya is a scenic spot on the Northeast Coast, renowned for its extraordinary rock formations. Beyond the visible sea-eroded rocky shores, what truly amazes visitors are the myriad, wondrously crafted weathered patterned rocks scattered throughout, resembling a vast outdoor sculpture museum. Nanya's weathered pattern topography is rare in Taiwan. It is formed when iron-bearing minerals along the joints in sandstone oxidize due to weathering, revealing distinctive banded patterns of iron oxide that are rich in sculptural beauty.
