Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area - Fulong Visitor Center

The Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area is located in the northeastern corner of Taiwan. Its land area extends north from Nanya Village, Ruifang District, New Taipei City, and south to the cape south of Neipi Beach in Su'ao Township. The coastline is 102.5 kilometers long, and the total area of its sea and land is 17,130 hectares. The Northeast Coast is backed by mountains and faces the sea, featuring numerous bays and capes, rugged strange rocks and towering cliffs, spectacular sea-eroded landforms, soft golden beaches, and diverse marine ecosystems. It has also fostered simple and unsophisticated cultural and historical sites, making it an all-around tourist destination that combines the educational function of a natural classroom with the emotional appeal of a coastal playground. To enhance the development of scenic resources and ecological conservation along the Northeast Coast, the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications specifically established a management office on June 1, 1984 (Republic of China calendar year 73). This office is dedicated to the development, construction, and management of tourism and recreational resources along the Northeast Coast. In addition to progressively developing scenic spots based on the natural landscape characteristics of the area, it has also planned terrestrial and marine resource protection zones to ensure the sustainable and continuous vitality of the Northeast Coast. The red-tiled, white-walled building located in front of the Fulong Beach entrance is where the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Management Office and the Fulong Visitor Center are located. The Fulong Visitor Center primarily provides displays and explanations of various information related to the Northeast Coast, such as natural ecology, cultural and historical sites, and tourist attractions.
