Neishuangxi Nature Center Medicinal Botanical Garden

To promote forest ecological conservation concepts and enhance public understanding and appreciation of wild plants, the Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development specifically established the 'Forest Medicinal Botanical Garden,' covering an area of 0.3 hectares, within the Neishuangxi Forest Nature Park. The garden is planned with six zones. Two of these are the 'Twelve Chinese Zodiac Medicinal Plant Zone,' named after the Chinese zodiac signs, and the 'Five Elements Medicinal Plant Zone,' named after the Five Elements. These two zones focus on 'names' to facilitate public learning in an interesting way. The 'Neishuangxi Native Medicinal Plant Zone' introduces local wild medicinal plants found in the area. The 'Herbal Tea Medicinal Plant Zone' draws from the wisdom of our ancestors' daily lives, introducing the ingredients for herbal teas. The 'Poisonous Plant Zone' introduces common poisonous plants, reminding the public not to misuse or ingest them indiscriminately. Additionally, many fruit trees are planted and designated as the 'Fruit Tree Health and Medicinal Plant Zone,' reminding the public that besides being delicious, fruits also possess special therapeutic effects.
