Guandu Wharf

Guandu was originally called 'Gandoumen'. Backed by Mount Guanyin and Mount Datun, and facing the Tamsui River, it became a strategically important port. In early times, early settlers entered Taiwan's northern region through Guandu Wharf to cultivate the land, leading to Guandu's early development. Later, due to the silting of the estuaries of two rivers (Keelung River and Tamsui River), water transport gradually declined. Guandu Wharf is located next to Guandu Nature Park and Guandu Temple. On holidays or in the evenings, visitors can often be seen strolling and relaxing around Guandu Wharf. Many cyclists also come from Bali via Guandu Bridge, or from Tamsui. The scenery along the way is beautiful, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing.
