Beitou Cultural Museum

The museum building, constructed in the 1920s, features exquisite craftsmanship and is one of the largest existing single-unit Japanese-style pure wooden buildings in Taiwan. During the Japanese colonial period, it served as a Japanese officers' club and was once used by the Kamikaze Special Attack Unit. After World War II, it became the Jiashan Guesthouse for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently privately owned, it is a venue for exhibiting folk art and antiques. The tea house within the grounds, built in the 1940s, is small but boasts a traditional Japanese water garden of great architectural and artistic value, forming a complete architectural complex with the museum building.
