The National Museum of History is located within the Botanical Garden on Nanhai Road, featuring classical Chinese architectural style. The current collection is divided into nineteen categories of artifacts, including Chinese paintings, calligraphy, Western paintings, jade, pottery, and porcelain. The artifact types include prehistoric painted pottery, Shang and Zhou oracle bones and bronze vessels, Tang Dynasty Sancai ceramics, stone Buddhist sculptures, jade artifacts, early Republican era furniture and puppets, and contemporary calligraphy and paintings.
