Taipei Zoo

Taipei Zoo, also known as Muzha Zoo, is located in Wenshan District, near National Chengchi University. It officially opened on October 31, 1986 (the 75th year of the Republic of China). The zoo currently spans 165 hectares, with its design fully utilizing the natural terrain to preserve the landscape and natural ecology. Exhibition areas include the Formosan Animal Area, Children's Zoo, Tropical Rainforest Area, African Animal Area, Desert Animal Area, Australian Animal Area, Temperate Animal Area, Aviary, Insectarium, Penguin House, Koala House, Amphibian and Reptile House, Giant Panda House, Pangolin House, and Education Center. Visitors can observe animals not commonly seen in everyday life, and professional, detailed explanations provide a deeper understanding of their habitats and habits, serving purposes of education, conservation research, and leisure entertainment. Beyond the animal exhibition areas, the zoo also offers a picnic area, a wild animal and plant observation area, and a youth physical training ground. This allows visitors to enjoy hiking, mountaineering, and natural scenery in addition to animal viewing. It is a diverse museum, an educational museum showcasing the diversity of life, a conservation base for wild animals, and an ideal recreational spot providing rich educational and leisure experiences for the public.
