Nanfang'ao Visitor Center

The Nanfang'ao Visitor Center is a green building nestled by mountains and water, located right next to Jin'an Temple in Nanfang'ao. This two-story building showcases local characteristics through various elements of fishing villages and fishing culture. The exhibits primarily offer information on the natural ecology, marine culture, recreational attractions, and travel insights for the Northeast Coast and Yilan Coast, as well as the Su'ao and Nanfang'ao areas. This allows visitors to deeply understand the local wetland ecology, fishing village culture, cold springs, and seafood delicacies, experiencing the beauty and charm of Yilan. The Nanfang'ao Visitor Center is a harmonious space that blends with its environment and utilizes natural resources. In addition to employing wind power generation and a rainwater harvesting system, all surrounding vents are fully opened to achieve natural ventilation and excellent lighting. The visitor center is airy, bright, and transparent, and the beautiful scenery outside the windows further integrates the center with the coastal landscape. During your visit, you can even catch a faint scent of the sea and fish – truly the most authentic smell of Nanfang'ao!
