The Dongshan River Water Park, designed to integrate water and greenery and promote closeness to nature, is situated along the Dongshan River. A panoramic view reveals the striking red arch of the Lizejian Bridge. This picturesque scene of blue skies, green landscapes, and a vibrant red bridge spanning the glistening river is a memorable sight for many visitors to Dongshan River Water Park, attracting numerous families seeking relaxation and fun. The park's design thoughtfully incorporates the philosophy of 'getting close to water and nature' throughout. Where land meets water, areas are often designed as stepped platforms that gradually descend into the water, or as gentle slopes extending into it. From the central stage of the amphitheater, looking out towards the sea, visitors can see the floating stage and five conical pebble mounds, arranged in a row, facing the 'neck' of Guishan Island, subtly integrating this natural Lanyang landmark into the park. Legend has it that since ancient times, the Dongshan River has been protected by green and yellow dragons. Consequently, the riverbanks feature undulating, gracefully curved 'Dragon Slopes' built from pebbles, embellished with ceramic tiles in shades of green, blue, yellow, and orange. Along the steps of these Dragon Slopes, square mosaic artworks are the creative masterpieces of Yilan's children. The meticulously planned park is divided into three main zones, all designed to allow visitors of all ages to truly 'experience the water'. The boating area is suitable for practicing dragon boat and Western-style rowing, or for a leisurely small boat ride to soak in the romantic scenery of the water reflecting the sky and distant boats. The wading area features varying depths, with water only ankle-deep, where many adults and children can be seen splashing and cooling off together. The large white stones and crescent-shaped small stone walls in the pond hold symbolic meaning: the small stone walls represent the bamboo fences used in traditional duck farming, while the large white stones symbolize ducks swimming freely, depicting the traditional duck farmers of Yilan. Additionally, there's a children's favorite water play area, divided into a swimming pool, an agility pool, and a 'river journey' experience. In summer, be sure to bring your swimsuits for endless fun! Furthermore, the swimming pool here is designed to emulate the meandering course of the Lanyang River, ensuring that Dongshan River Water Park offers delightful surprises at every turn. When visiting Dongshan River Water Park, you can cycle along the river to admire its scenic beauty, playfully interact with the water and sunbeams, or stroll along the riverbanks to clear your mind and relax, far from the urban hustle. You can also come to enjoy the annual Dragon Boat Festival races and the International Children's Folklore & Folkgame Festival. Whichever way you choose to enjoy it, Dongshan River Water Park guarantees a delightful and refreshing experience!
