Yilan's Sacred Spring Land - The World's Most Unique Spring. Yilan can truly be called a land of excellent springs, with springs available for bathing all year round. In winter, there's Jiaoxi Hot Spring, and in summer, Su'ao Cold Spring. For this reason, they are known as the two natural treasures hidden deep beneath the Lanyang Plain, attracting many spring enthusiasts and their families to come and relax. Refreshing Mineral Spring, Unique Cold Spring Specialties. Abundant rainfall and Su'ao's thick local limestone strata have created the unique Su'ao Cold Spring in Southeast Asia. This 'low-temperature mineral spring' has a water temperature of about 21 degrees Celsius, is colorless and odorless, and its water quality is clear and transparent. It can be drunk or bathed in, and is Taiwan's only calcium bicarbonate spring. The history of the cold spring can be traced back to 1928, when Japanese soldiers discovered, researched, and developed it. Due to its clear, sweet water quality and rich carbon dioxide content, the yokan (sweet bean jelly) and marble soda made from it also became two major local specialties. Although the soda has been discontinued, Su'ao Cold Spring Yokan remains a representative local product; why not try this delightful treat! The invigorating coolness of 21 degrees. Currently, the cold spring facility includes open-air public pools for men and women, as well as private bathing rooms, and a well-planned recreational park where adults and children alike can enjoy the springs. When bathing in the cold spring, due to the lower water temperature, you'll feel quite cool when you first enter the pool, but in less than five minutes, your whole body will feel warm. And because fine bubbles continuously emerge from the bottom of the pool, it feels like soaking in sugar-free soda – both fun and comfortable! It is said that frequent bathing is beneficial for the skin, earning it the reputation among locals as a natural beauty sanctuary. You must experience this extraordinary cold spring for yourself!
