If you wish to admire the coastal scenery spanning Wujie, Zhuangwei, and Toucheng townships, consider hopping on a bike and slowly riding along the bikeway between the river and the sea, experiencing the beauty of Lanyang in a unique way. The Zhuangwei Coastal Bikeway, flanked by broadleaf forests and screwpine trees, stretches for 15 kilometers, offering a serene journey through lush, dense woodlands. Numerous side paths branch off both sides of the path; the right-hand paths lead to the beaches along Zhuangwei Township's coast, while the left-hand paths lead to the villages within Zhuangwei Township. Occasionally, bunkers appear, adding an element of interest to the journey. Along the way, Guishan Island (Turtle Island) in the distance accompanies you, offering breathtakingly expansive natural landscapes that refresh both body and mind. The entire bikeway features two scenic pavilions where cyclists can rest and admire the coastal views of the protection forest area, gazing out at the vast sandy beaches and the clear blue sea, accompanied by the endless sound of crashing waves and the gentle sea breeze – like a tranquil and idyllic coastal painting. Nearby attractions also include Yongzhen Coastal Park, perfect for playing in the sand, swimming, and capturing the sunrise over Guishan Island, as well as Donggang Banyan Tree Park, located at the mouth of the Lanyang River, which offers comfortable and pleasant shade from the banyan trees and refreshing sea breezes. On a clear, sunny day, plan a leisurely cycling trip to "date" Guishan Island and the Pacific Ocean, and experience the wonderful scenery along this bikeway! [A gentle reminder] Due to the dense vegetation lining both sides of the bikeway and forest paths, there may be many small mosquitoes. It is recommended to wear long sleeves and long pants or apply insect repellent before heading out! Public restrooms are available along the route for visitors; their locations can be found on the coastal bikeway map.
