Taoyuan Valley features a vast grassland stretching for three kilometers, feeling like stepping into an otherworldly paradise, a truly ethereal fairyland. Ascending to a high vantage point, one can forget the earthly hustle and bustle. With its lush green grass, Taoyuan Valley was formerly known as "Kǔn Niúzǎi Shān" (Cow Tying Mountain), a place where children grazed cattle and played during early farming off-seasons. Today, it is a popular hiking route, renowned for its three-kilometer-long gentle grassy slopes, resembling a green carpet meticulously woven by nature. On clear days, it offers a 360-degree panoramic view, looking east towards the Pacific Ocean and north towards Longdong Cape. During autumn and winter, strong seasonal winds bring clusters of clouds to Taoyuan Valley. The fields of silvergrass sway like waves in the mountain and sea breezes, creating a fresh and picturesque pastoral scene. As its name suggests (meaning "Peach Blossom Valley"), Taoyuan Valley is like the Peach Blossom Spring for the people of Wuling, offering otherworldly peace and tranquility. Coupled with the sight of a few scattered homes, wisps of smoke curling from chimneys, and the sounds of chickens and dogs, hikers are sure to find this paradise unforgettable and deeply nostalgic. Ascending from Renzhe Community is the traditional route to Taoyuan Valley. It features a section with a significant elevation gain, winding and circuitous, where the path turns and opens up dramatically, offering vast distant views and nearby details that captivate the eye and clear the mind. Continuing along the path to the wild and expansive grassland, friends and family can gather to chat, or lie comfortably sprawled out, gazing at the clear blue sky, letting the mountain and sea breezes caress them. Standing at the highest point, the Lanyang Plain and Guishan Island lie below, a magnificent blend of mountains and sea, with human presence fading into the distance—truly a heavenly fairyland.
