Right next to Fulong Beach, with its distinctive red-tiled roof and white walls, stands the Fulong Visitor Center. It would be a pity to merely pass by or just grab a brochure, as it offers much more than just travel information – it's also a vibrant and enriching space for arts and cultural exhibitions. The Visitor Center provides displays and explanations on various aspects of the Northeast Coast, including its natural ecology, cultural heritage, and tourist attractions, with a comprehensive and diverse exhibition area. The experience zone features numerous interactive installations and virtual reality experiences, allowing visitors to get a sneak peek of the Northeast Coast. Particularly noteworthy is the 'Fulong Driftwood Sculpture Exhibition Hall'. Most of the artworks in the hall are carved from precious timbers such as red cypress and camphor wood. These are native driftwood species washed ashore on the Northeast Coast by typhoons. The management office collected them and commissioned master woodcarvers from Sanyi to transform them, giving the driftwood new life and artistic value. This initiative faithfully embodies the spirit of natural environmental regeneration, combining tourism and art to create a unique cultural and tourism asset for the Northeast Coast. Many shops around the Visitor Center and the train station offer bicycle rentals. As long as the weather is good, you can enjoy a relaxing bike ride any time of the year. So next time you visit Fulong, don't forget to step into the Visitor Center and explore, making your trip even more informative and enriching!
