Stepping onto Xinhua Old Street, this unique street, imbued with a strong Baroque style, is lined with magnificent classical Western-style buildings, allowing visitors to relive Xinhua's past glory. In 1921, the first Baroque-style building appeared on Xinhua West Street, which is today Mr. Lin's Cloth Shop at No. 432 Zhongzheng Road. This building, a fusion of craftsmanship and artistic concepts, became the most eye-catching sight on the street. Subsequently, neighbors followed suit and constructed similar buildings. By 1937, the Japanese government, under the guise of urban development, renovated the entire street into a unified style. To this day, Xinhua Old Street continues to preserve the artisanal beauty of its ancient architecture.
