Tainan City preserves numerous precious municipal historic sites. Among them, Daxian Temple and Biyun Temple, located in the Siraya National Scenic Area, are both historically significant and precious temples. Guanziling Daxian Temple earned its place among historic sites primarily due to its Mahavira Hall, which is modeled after the architecture of the Great Buddha of Nara, Japan. Daxian Temple is situated at the foot of Pingtou Mountain in Baihe District, Tainan City, at the tail end of the Guanziling mountain range. Its ancient and elegant halls possess a classical beauty and it is commonly known as "Old Rock Temple."
