Guantian Pheasant-tailed Jacana Ecological Education Park

The Guan Tian Pheasant-tailed Jacana Conservation Area, located in Guan Tian District, was established with sponsorship from the High-Speed Rail. After the Tainan City Government's Department of Agriculture took over its management, it was officially renamed the Guan Tian Pheasant-tailed Jacana Ecological Education Park. The park is gradually advancing towards a focus on ecological education and tourism. Within the park, there is not only an abundance of aquatic plants but also a rich ecology of many waterbirds. The most important bird species among them is the "Lingbo Fairy" – the Pheasant-tailed Jacana – which coexists with the water caltrop fields. Here, visitors can observe the ecological wonders of the Pheasant-tailed Jacana simply by using binoculars, which often attracts many birdwatchers.
