The Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration is one of the national scenic areas under the jurisdiction of the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications. The administration office is located in Beimen District, Tainan City, and was formerly the office of Taiyen Company's Beimen Salt Farm. The plaza in front of the administration building is paved with mosaics made from broken tile shards used for sun-drying salt in former salt fields, creating the distinctive atmosphere and characteristics of a salt field and fishing village in the Beimen area. Within the administrative complex, there is also a Japanese-style wooden building and surrounding historical structures. This was formerly the 'Beimen Office' during the Japanese colonial era. It has now been transformed into an art museum, providing studio residencies for artists, and together forming the Beimen Cultural and Art Park, where artistic creation blends with local history.
