Many visitors come to Fengguidouhu Trail searching for a "lake" but cannot find it. After asking locals, they realize that in the past, a "lake" referred to a basin-shaped depression surrounded by mountains on three sides. If you observe closely, you will find that the Guanyinshan Visitor Center is situated within this "Douhu," which offers excellent views. Hikers on the Guanyinshan trail system often consider this path a sub-route of the Yinghanling Trail, as the Fengguidouhu Trail connects to the Yinghanling Trail at the 940-meter mark and does not have its own independent peak. The Fengguidouhu Trail is approximately 788 meters long. Its entrance is behind the "Lion Park" at the Guanyinshan Visitor Center, next to Huafushan Road (North 53). A sign reading "Fengguidouhu Hiking Trail" is displayed on the mountain wall opposite the parking lot. Proceed along the industrial road for about 500 meters, then turn left into a small path beside a residence. The neatly arranged stone steps begin to ascend steeply. Hikers on this trail seem like experienced travelers, taking their time and moving with ease. Both sides of the trail are covered with dense forests and bamboo groves, providing excellent shade. The gurgling stream beside the mountain path flows along with the hikers' footsteps, offering some relief to beginners who might be sweating profusely and breathing heavily. In fact, this trail is neither too long nor too short. Walking the 788-meter stone steps, taking breaks along the way, one soon reaches the saddle intersection, where it connects with the Yinghanling Trail. Turning left leads to Yinghanling. Turning right, after passing the Water Resources Agency relay station and the "Weakling's Club," is a continuous downhill path that follows the North 53 road exit to Lingyun Chan Temple Kaishanyuan, which is also a good option. The Fengguidouhu Trail is moderate in length and has sufficient incline, making it suitable for fitness, building stamina, and challenging one's endurance.
