Zhilan Park Ocean Viewing Platform

The Zhilan Park Ocean Viewing Platform, located at the 16-kilometer mark of Provincial Highway 2 (Tamsui-Jinshan Highway) and adjacent to the Shuangwan Cycling Path in Sanzhi District, was originally built in 1992. It featured a double-layered structure of base and platform, standing approximately 3 meters high, and connected to the adjacent park's footpath and Qianshuiwan Beach. It was once a popular summer leisure spot on the North Coast and a favored location for wedding photos. However, due to long-term erosion, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, after evaluation by a professional team, durability and safety were prioritized for its reconstruction. The original base of the ocean platform was preserved for reconstruction on the same site. Through cooperation between central and local governments, local Sanzhi artists, including Hu Dongmin, were invited to collaborate with environmental aesthetics consultant Chen Chunliang on the design. They created an international-level 'sunset catwalk' with a romantic aesthetic, approximately 3 meters high and 43 meters long, allowing visitors to stroll along the magnificent platform in the gentle sea breeze and enjoy the beautiful sunset views of the North Coast.
