Lover's Lake Park

Lover's Lake Park is situated on the mountainside of Dawulun Mountain, formed by the convergence of six mountain streams. It is Keelung's only high-altitude lake, boasting exquisite and beautiful scenery reminiscent of a delicate jade beauty. The surrounding area is densely wooded with emerald green lake waters, creating a fresh and pleasant landscape. In spring and summer, the park comes alive with the chirping of insects and birds and the dance of colorful butterflies, making it an ideal place for people to connect with nature. The lake was originally named "Wucha Tablet" (Five-Forked Stele) but was later renamed Lover's Lake because the Keelung Youth Corps Committee frequently held activities here. The park features facilities such as a lakeside trail, mountain trail, Lover's Suspension Bridge, pavilions, and observation decks. The trails are flanked by lush trees, and various plants showcase the changing seasons. Strolling through the park, visitors can enjoy a phytoncide forest bath while admiring the picturesque lake and mountain views, creating a truly poetic and artistic experience. The mountain trail in Lover's Lake Park leads up to Lao Ying Yan (Eagle Rock), a ridge facing the sea. From this ridge trail, one can view the ocean, not only seeing the Dawulun Aodi Fishing Port along the coast but also gazing out at Keelung Islet and Yehliu Cape in the distance, instantly uplifting and refreshing the spirit. Another explanation for the name Lover's Lake is that there are two interconnected lakes within the park, one large and one small, resembling lovers nestled together, hence the name.
