Yehliu Geopark

Yehliu Geopark, renowned for its vast scale, widespread bizarre rock formations, unique shapes, and world-rare natural wonders sculpted by nature's masterful hand, is an internationally famous must-visit attraction when coming to Wanli. From the entrance of Yehliu Geopark to the tip of the cape, the park stretches approximately 1.7 kilometers, with its widest point less than 300 meters. Due to the coastline's orientation being nearly perpendicular to the direction of the strata and structural lines, coupled with the effects of geological processes such as wave erosion, rock weathering, relative sea-land movement, and crustal movement, the park has developed rare and rich topographical and geological landscapes. It serves as a natural geological classroom and a wonderland of peculiar rocks. With weathered rocks, wind-eroded grooves, wind-eroded cliffs, potholes, and a long, narrow cape, every step you take offers surprising discoveries. Standing on the edge of Yehliu Cape, the boundless sea stretches before your eyes, displaying an array of bizarrely shaped rocks everywhere: mushroom rocks, tofu rocks, elephant trunk rocks, fairy shoes, and the Queen's Head. It truly makes one wonder if immortals once sculpted here, leaving behind magical relics for humankind. The regular horizontal striations on the rock walls are the sole witness, testifying to how the stacked rocks here have been carved by time, tides, and climate, meticulously sculpted bit by bit, eroded second by second, congealing into nature's unique masterpieces. This international-level geological landscape is well worth the traveler's careful appreciation and contemplation.
