Laomei Green Stone Troughs

The Laomei Green Stone Troughs were once voted by CNN as one of Taiwan's eight secret scenic spots. The waves brought by the northeast monsoon crash onto the surface of these stone troughs, nourishing the rock faces and slowly allowing green sea lettuce and hair algae to grow, creating the astonishing, seasonal 'Green Stone Troughs' scenic beauty. The stone troughs are a natural landscape formed by the growth of sea algae. In recent years, they have been facing a survival crisis due to the effects of warm winters and human trampling.
