Shallow Water Bay is located approximately at the 16-kilometer mark of Provincial Highway 2, shortly after entering Sanzhi from Tamsui along the Tamsui-Jinshan Highway. It is a famous scenic coastal spot on the North Coast. Shallow Water Bay's coastline distinctively combines both rocky shores and sandy beaches. The left half features a rocky shore with numerous prominent large rocks, while the right half is a sandy beach formed by long-term sedimentation, creating a unique landscape of algal reefs and a crescent-shaped beach, which is a significant feature of Shallow Water Bay. Not far from the coast lies a reef area. Many visitors come to the beach to chase waves, collect shells, and enjoy a romantic and leisurely stroll along the wide, flat, off-white sandy beach. For those seeking the freedom of the sea breeze, the Shallow Water Bay cycling boardwalk offers a refreshing experience, allowing you to cycle and feel the natural rhythm of the wind sweeping through the grass.
