Zisalisali Trail

The entrance to the Zisalisali Trail is located in Maolin Purple Butterfly Ecological Park. One can only reach the entrance by following the Butterfly-Watching Trail. Zisalisali is a Rukai term meaning 'an area abundant with shell ginger plants'. In the past, there were no place names in the mountains. Indigenous ancestors, when cultivating in the mountains, would name places based on the trees or plants they saw growing in the area, hence the name.
