Alishan Xianglin Sacred Tree

The Alishan Xianglin Sacred Tree, formerly known as the 'Guangwu Cypress,' is a Taiwan Red Cypress and a composite tree. It was named by former Taiwan Provincial Chairman Huang Jie. The name comes from the estimation that its seed fell and germinated approximately during the reign of Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
