Shouzhen Temple

Rebuilt in 1969, Shouzhen Temple is the largest temple in the park and a spiritual center for locals. The temple enshrines Xuantian Shangdi, Fude Zhengshen, and Zhusheng Niangniang. Legend has it that in the past, every year, about a week before the third day of the third lunar month, several 'celestial silkworm moths' would fly in to pay homage, staying on the statues, not eating or flying, and departing after about a week. This tale of 'divine moths' was later even reported in the news, causing a sensation. It was later identified as the 'Dryas iapetus moth,' likely attracted by the temple's lights, and it happened to be the mating season for moths. The combination of various factors coincidentally created the 'divine moth' phenomenon, and thus added another legend to Shouzhen Temple.
