Lichia Maple Viewing Trail

Before entering Lichia Village, at approximately the 49-kilometer mark of County Highway 169, there is a wooden platform. Follow the adjacent wooden stairs down, and you will immediately enter a maple forest. Among them are Green Maples (Acer serrulatum), belonging to the maple family, and Formosan Sweetgums (Liquidambar formosana), belonging to the witch-hazel family. In addition to enhancing the mountain scenery during the maple leaf season, you can also observe the spiky, ball-like fruits of the Formosan Sweetgum.
