Ci-Yun Temple View: One of the New Eight Scenic Spots

Ci-Yun Temple, built in 1919, was established because the beautiful scenery and concentrated spiritual energy of Alishan resembled the sacred imagery of Vulture Peak in India. The temple enshrines a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha, whose exterior is crafted from cast bronze and interior adorned with gold sand, creating a solemn and respectful Buddhist atmosphere. This Buddha statue is also known as the 'Thousand-Year-Old Ancient Buddha'.
