Located on Songboling in Mingjian Township, Nantou County, Shou Tian Temple primarily worships the Taoist deity 'Xuantian Shangdi of the North Pole,' commonly known as Shangdi Gong or Diye Gong. With a history spanning over 300 years since the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, Shou Tian Temple serves as the pilgrimage center for the Xuantian Shangdi faith in Taiwan. Annually, from the first lunar month until the third day of the third lunar month, pilgrimage activities draw shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. These events, ranging from spirit medium (Jitong) rituals to performances by civil and martial traditional performing troupes, fully demonstrate the vibrant energy of Taiwanese folk religion.
