Shaolai Suspension Bridge

According to legend, the ancestors of the Atayal indigenous people originally lived by the Shaolai Creek valley in the area of Nanshi and Ziyou Villages, Heping District, Taichung City. The chief of that tribe was named 'Shaolai'. Later, due to the continuous construction of suspension bridges, it was named the Shaolai Suspension Bridge!
