Techi Reservoir

The Techi Reservoir is located upstream of the Dajia River in Taichung. It is a high-mountain type reservoir and also Taiwan's first double-curvature, thin arch dam made of concrete. It serves multiple functions including water supply, flood control, and irrigation, and also generates hydroelectricity. Its catchment area spans Taichung City, Nantou County, and Yilan County, and it has long provided a highly reliable water source for the central region.
