The formation of cold springs requires two essential conditions: first, abundant groundwater resources, and second, rock layers capable of producing large amounts of carbon dioxide. The conditions for formation are stringent, which is why very few countries in the world have cold springs. Coincidentally, Beipu Cold Spring is one of them.
