Luchang Tribe

Originally named 'Qubus' (in the Atayal language), this is a concentrated settlement of the Atayal people. The Atayal are one of Taiwan's indigenous groups, second only to the Amis in population. They typically reside in areas with mountains and streams, which not only offers a defensive advantage but also ensures easy access to water. Several years ago, a car commercial reignited appreciation for Luchang's simple and ethereal beauty; its natural and unpretentious charm is its greatest appeal.
