Nanzhuang Visitor Center

The Nanzhuang Visitor Center was established on April 20, 2003. The current building is the first visitor center under the jurisdiction of the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, to receive a green building label. The building meets four major indicators: greening volume, site water retention, daily energy saving, and water resources. It is located next to Nanzhuang Old Street and was officially inaugurated on January 17, 2009. In the past, Nanzhuang thrived on forestry and mining, which were later replaced by the tourism and leisure industry, making it a township of diverse cultural integration. Therefore, the interior design of the visitor center also incorporates Hakka and indigenous elements. It provides visitors with tourism information, consultation services, scenic spot introductions, multimedia video guides, and free experience of indigenous and Hakka clothing. It also offers convenient and thoughtful services such as free Wi-Fi (iTaiwan), electric vehicle charging, luggage storage, and borrowing of wheelchairs, umbrellas, and reading glasses.
