This section of the bicycle path extends north from Shuishe Pier along the shores of Sun Moon Lake to Zhaowu Pier, Zhushi Garden, and Wenwu Temple, with a total length of approximately 3.5 kilometers. Some parts of the path also offer views of Hanbi Peninsula and Shuishe Pier, making it a popular route with gentle slopes. The entrance to the Shuishe Waterfront Trail is located to the left of Shuishe Pier and serves as an important pedestrian route connecting Shuishe Pier to Jiulongkou. The entire path features accessible ramps, making it ideal for families with children. It's flat and easy to walk, following a lakeside wooden boardwalk, passing Zhaowu Pier, and leading directly to Jiulongkou. The trail is lush with green trees, ensuring it doesn't feel hot even in midsummer. There are rest stops along the way where visitors can take a break or lean on the railing to admire the yachts cruising back and forth in the lake. On the tranquil surface of the lake, the water reflects the sunlight, sparkling as if thousands of gold and silver treasures have fallen into the lake. When there is fog, Xuanzang Temple on the Qinglong Mountain Range appears like an ancient temple in the deep mountains of a traditional Chinese painting, evoking a sense of ancient longing. Ci'en Pagoda on Shabarang Mountain can always be seen standing on the mountaintop from any angle along the trail, like a precious sword constantly guarding Sun Moon Lake. Upon reaching Jiulongkou, there is an artificial floating island on the lake covered with wild ginger flowers, where you might occasionally spot a night heron hiding among the leaves, poised to hunt for food. If you still have the energy and inclination, you can continue to the Wenwu Temple Annual Stairway or ascend the stairs to the opposite Zhushi Garden for another part of your journey. At night, looking back at Shuishe Pier from the trail, the twinkling lights of hotels and restaurants, set against the dark night, resemble colorful jewels, appearing even more dazzling.
