The Sun Moon Old Tea Factory was originally the "Taiwan Forestry Company Yuchi Tea Factory," built in 1959 (Republic of China Year 48). This old tea factory not only preserves historical buildings and machinery from early tea production but has also successfully transformed into a comprehensive tea tourism factory integrating production, sales, dining, and guided tours. Due to its unique historical atmosphere and natural scenery, the Sun Moon Old Tea Factory has become a popular Instagram check-in spot in recent years and one of the filming locations for the TV series "Gold Leaf" (茶金). Yuchi Township boasts excellent climate conditions, making it one of Taiwan's earliest regions to cultivate black tea. Its black teas are of superior quality, especially Taiwan Tea No. 8 Assam black tea, Taiwan Tea No. 18 Ruby black tea, and Taiwan Tea No. 21 Red Rhyme black tea, which are renowned for their rich aroma and mellow, smooth taste.
