The Chung Tai Chan Monastery complex covers a vast area. Its gardens are elegantly designed with unique rocks and exotic trees, and the monastery also houses an exhibition hall with a rich collection of artifacts. Today, the architecture of Chung Tai Chan Monastery is majestic and grand. Venerable Grand Master Weichueh and renowned architect C.Y. Lee integrated Eastern and Western architectural techniques into the monastery's design. They also incorporated the 'sudden enlightenment' (immediate attainment of Buddhahood) and 'gradual cultivation' (progression through stages) principles, along with the style of ancient Chan monasteries. This blends art, academia, religion, and culture into a harmonious whole, yet without losing the essence of Zen, making it truly admirable. Beyond its impressive architecture, Chung Tai Chan Monastery is also well-equipped with facilities, including a Chan Hall, Four Heavenly Kings Hall, Bodhisattva Hall, Hall of the Buddhas of the Three Times, Lecture Hall, Reception Room, Main Kitchen, and Dining Hall for devotees to worship and use.
