Taomi Recreational Agricultural Area

The Taomi Recreational Agricultural Area is located in Puli Township, Nantou. It is an ecological rural area nestled by mountains and rivers, lush with greenery. It is traversed by the Taomi River and its five tributaries, fostering rich and diverse natural ecological resources and a simple rural landscape. After the 921 Earthquake in 1999, local residents worked together to rebuild the area, combining ecological conservation, agricultural resources, and tourism. This successfully created one of Taiwan's most distinctive recreational agricultural areas, also known as Taomi Eco-Village. The Taomi Recreational Agricultural Area boasts not only rich natural ecology, including diverse species such as 19 types of frogs and 43 types of dragonflies and damselflies, but also features facilities like forest bathing trails, waterfalls, ecological ponds, and nurseries, allowing visitors to get close to nature and enjoy the pleasure of forest bathing and ecological observation. Furthermore, the area offers a variety of agricultural experiential activities, such as farming experiences with passion fruit, water bamboo, jabuticaba, and moso bamboo shoots. It also provides hands-on DIY workshops, picnics, hiking, and nighttime ecological tours for frog and firefly watching, making it suitable for families and eco-tourism enthusiasts. The Taomi Recreational Agricultural Area actively promotes cultural arts and community development, enhancing tourism quality and experience depth, thus becoming a model for rural revitalization. The area also has several legal homestays, providing convenient accommodation for visitors, and offers customized itinerary suggestions, allowing travelers to deeply explore Taomi's natural and cultural charm.
