Visitor Essentials

Meihe Garden is located at the entrance to the Hanbi Literature Trail in Sun Moon Lake. In the past, when Mr. Chiang Kai-shek stayed at Sun Moon Lake, it served as a guard post for his accompanying military police, symbolizing the 'Meihe spirit' of the military police. Situated on a high point near Shuishe Pier, it was once an important military control point responsible for monitoring personnel movement. After the 921 earthquake, the government transformed Meihe Garden into a scenic viewing platform, making it an excellent spot to admire the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake and the fireworks displays at Shuishe Pier, offering a pleasant evening leisure option for overnight visitors. Since 2011, Meihe Garden has been operated by a private catering business, transforming it into a multi-functional scenic restaurant where visitors can enjoy delicious food while taking in the charming lakeside views, making it a double feast for both taste and sight during their travels. Although the number of plum blossom trees planted in Meihe Garden is not large, they gradually bloom from late December to early the following year, adding a romantic spring ambiance to the park. The plum blossoms, set against the scenic beauty of Sun Moon Lake, create a delightful sight, making it a hidden gem for spring flower viewing. Opening Hours: Restaurant business hours: Sunday-Thursday 11:00-18:30, Friday-Saturday 11:00-20:00. The area outside the restaurant is open 24 hours a day, all year round, and is only temporarily closed 'due to natural disasters such as typhoons, or during renovation work.' Any closures will be announced in the latest news.
