Ren Cheng Temple Ksitigarbha Monastery

From the Geographic Center Stele in Puli Township, Nantou County, looking into the distance, where continuous farmlands meet distant mountains to the northwest, stands a magnificent, pure, and solemn Buddhist monastery with green tiles and white walls. This is the renowned Ren Cheng Temple Ksitigarbha Monastery. Entering through the mountain gate, the buildings, gracefully constructed along the mountain's contours, and the elegant surroundings evoke a sense of having worldly burdens washed away. Ascending the steps, one immediately sees a ten-foot-tall bronze statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva enshrined in the main hall on the first floor. On the second floor, a magnificent eighteen-foot-tall sacred statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, intricately carved from cypress wood, stands in the center of the hall. The statue's countenance radiates compassion, solemnity, and perfection. The Ksitigarbha Monastery's Zen forest—"Ligou Qingliangyuan" (Pure and Cool Garden)—is adorned with lush trees and vibrant greenery, creating a serene and elegant environment. This Zen forest preserves the appearance of an original forest, making it not only an excellent place for meditation but also a habitat for many wild protected bird species. The lifelike Buddhist art stone carvings and profound Dharma sayings found throughout the forest allow visitors to immerse themselves in the ocean of Dharma, purifying their minds and inspiring good roots.
