Located in Dayan Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou, the Dayan Leisure Agriculture Area is an agricultural tourism zone primarily known for its tea cultivation. It is especially famous throughout Taiwan for its high-quality "Assam Black Tea" and "Ruby Black Tea." After suffering severe damage from the 921 earthquake, residents actively engaged in community reconstruction and holistic development, promoting organic black tea cultivation. They successfully transformed the area into a premium black tea production region with significant brand value. The Dayan Leisure Agriculture Area encompasses communities such as Xianzhaojiao and Seshu. Here, the area is shrouded in mist year-round with a cool and pleasant climate, fostering the growth of fragrant black tea and a rich natural ecosystem. The black tea from Seshu Community is renowned for its rich aroma, attracting many visitors to sample tea and experience tea garden life. The area also features the famous Jinlong Mountain, with an elevation of approximately 820 meters. It is a renowned low-altitude spot in central Taiwan for watching the sunrise and admiring a sea of clouds, making it a popular destination for photography enthusiasts capturing the beauty of dawn. In addition to tea garden experiences, the Dayan Agricultural Area actively promotes eco-tourism and agricultural touring events, such as the "Shuishui Baicha Xiang" (Water-Tea-Scent) tour. This tour combines a stroll along the Seshu Forest Trail, black tea tasting, fish and shrimp ecological exploration, and passion fruit farming experiences, allowing visitors to deeply appreciate the beauty of rural life and natural ecology. These activities are mostly held from October to December each year and are suitable for families and nature lovers. Farmers in the area adhere to the traditional method of hand-picking one bud and two leaves, developing multiple private brands such as Seshu Royal Tea, Black Tea Workshop, and Forest Black Tea. Their excellent and diverse quality injects vitality and competitiveness into the Dayan Leisure Agriculture Area. Local guesthouses are also diverse and distinctive, offering visitors comfortable accommodation choices to complete their journey.
