The Neihushan Trail is approximately 1.5 kilometers long. It was formerly an ancient path used by local residents to transport agricultural products to Wenwu Temple, but today it has been developed into a comfortable hiking trail. Both sides of the trail are covered with extensive bamboo groves and dense forests, providing abundant shade and a cool, pleasant environment. It is particularly known for its rich variety of ferns and begonias, making it a natural ecological classroom. Due to its perennial humidity, the Neihushan Trail serves as an excellent habitat for frogs and fireflies. During the firefly viewing season from April to late May each year, countless fireflies twinkle along the trail, attracting numerous visitors to experience this nocturnal natural wonder. Along the trail, there are observation decks offering panoramic views of Sun Moon Lake's stunning scenery, allowing visitors to enjoy the tranquil beauty where forest and lake intertwine. The trail entrances are conveniently located next to Fleur de Chine Hotel and within the back hill park of Wenwu Temple. It is suitable for families and travelers who enjoy leisurely hikes. The Neihushan Trail is a hidden gem around Sun Moon Lake, combining natural ecology with cultural history, offering visitors an excellent option to experience forest bathing and the beauty of nature away from the bustling tourist areas.
