Sun Moon Lake Cycling Path - Xiangshan Section

The Sun Moon Lake cycling path is approximately 6.4 kilometers long in total. The Xiangshan section, running from Shuishe to Xiangshan Visitor Center, connects two important rest stops, with a total length of approximately 3.4 kilometers. Both Xiangshan Visitor Center and Shuishe Integrated Shopping Mall have bicycle service stations. The section closest to the water is about 0.4 kilometers long, where the cycling path is built over the water, bypassing residences and shops, and running along the water's edge. It is known as the "Water Cycling Path." To ensure pedestrian and cyclist separation for recreational safety, two dedicated bicycle and pedestrian bridges, "Yongjie" (Eternal Knot) and "Tongxin" (Concentric), were built, featuring white piers and wooden walkways. The curved bridge decks spanning the gullies were designed for smooth riding. This area has become a new hotspot for wedding photography, with its white-toned piers, artificial lakeside beach, and flowerbeds creating a romantic scenery. The Yuetan section starts from Xiangshan Administration Center, extends south along the southern shore of Yuetan (Moon Lake), passes through Crescent Bay and Toushe Dam, and ends at Tunnel No. 1, totaling approximately 3.4 kilometers. Along the way, riders are accompanied by lake views, can enjoy a southern vista of the Toushe Basin, and look north towards the Qinglong Mountains, making it an excellent path for getting close to Yuetan.
