Toushe is a small village located southwest of Sun Moon Lake. Its elevation is approximately 640-670 meters, which is about 80 meters lower than Sun Moon Lake. The terrain is very flat, making it ideal for cycling. The starting point of this bicycle path is right next to Provincial Highway 21. The Toushe Basin covers an area of only about 2 square kilometers. With its flat terrain, green fields, flocks of egrets, and simple farmhouses, it forms a beautiful rural landscape. Cycling leisurely along the country roads here is truly refreshing. Luffa (sponge gourd) is Toushe's most famous and most widely cultivated crop, with its beautiful yellow flowers blooming annually from June to August. Furthermore, about a month earlier, the sea of daylilies (golden needles) also blooms in the Toushe Basin! The entire valley is dyed orange by the daylily blossoms, making it a perfect spot for stunning photos, no matter where you stand. Along the Toushe Bicycle Path, you can also see the ancestral, grandfather's, and grandmother's laundry areas. Want to imagine how people in earlier times used to chat lively while doing laundry together? Don't miss these three laundry areas when you visit! During the summer vacation, if you want to avoid the crowds around Sun Moon Lake, consider bringing your own bicycle to explore this area. Slow down and truly experience the most authentic and welcoming rural charm here!
