The Jiji Weir, located beneath the Jiji Bridge in Linwei Village, Jiji Township, is Taiwan's largest water resource management project. It is a hydraulic engineering project designed as part of the Six-Year National Construction Plan, featuring not only multifunctionality and diverse design but also a magnificent and splendid landscape. The weir impounds water at the Shizitou Mountain pass in the upstream section of the Zhuoshui River, storing and utilizing it to supply irrigation water for farmlands in central and southern Taiwan. The weir body is 353.5 meters long, equipped with eighteen floodgates, four sediment sluice gates, and one fish ladder. It has a storage capacity of approximately 9.44 million cubic meters, providing water for the Yunlin Offshore Industrial Park, downstream agricultural use, and public water supply, demonstrating outstanding functionality. The Jiji Weir Management Center, located next to the Jiji Weir, is affiliated with the Central Region Water Resources Office of the Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Completed and activated in 2002, it serves as the central hub for controlling the operation of the Jiji Weir and is the dispatch unit responsible for allocating Zhuoshui River water resources to downstream agricultural, domestic, and industrial users on both banks, according to operational regulations. To provide the public with a deeper understanding of the Jiji Joint Diversion Project, the Zhuoshui River basin, and the trajectory of Taiwan's water resource development, as well as to preserve a complete record of this century-spanning water resource development project, which took ten years to construct, the management center features exhibition facilities such as the Jiji Joint Diversion Hall, Zhuoshui River Hall, Taiwan Water Resources Hall, and a third-floor platform. After enjoying the beautiful scenery of the weir, visitors are encouraged to visit the management center to learn about water resource ecology. The building's observation deck offers magnificent views of the expansive Zhuoshui River and the impressive weir.
