The Lying Crocodile

A fantastic rock formation under beautiful daylight. On the west bank of Qingshui'ao in Xiyin, a piece of land extending into the sea, from a distance, resembles a giant, lifelike crocodile, complete with a mouth, legs, and even faintly discernible sharp claws, quietly crouching as if ready to head out to sea! Therefore, locals call it 'Crocodile Island,' and it's also known as 'The Lying Crocodile.' There is a local folk legend that in the past, a fierce crocodile followed fish upstream to Qingshui'ao, frequently causing trouble here. The fishermen were greatly disturbed until, fortunately, the Jade Emperor intervened and subdued the crocodile, allowing its soul to return to the west bank of Qingshui'ao. Only then did Crocodile Island take on its present appearance. Dongyin Invincible Seascape Area – Sanshan Stronghold At the leftmost end of The Lying Crocodile is an important stronghold guarding the western waters of Dongyin. The view from here is excellent, offering an unobstructed panorama of the surrounding sea. The origin of Sanshan Stronghold is rooted in early military requirements. Shìwěishān, where the easternmost Dongyong Lighthouse is located, was designated 'High Ground No. 1.' Counting westward, the westernmost high ground on Xiyin Island was 'High Ground No. 33,' making it the westernmost stronghold in the Dongyin defense zone. Due to an erroneous military inscription, it is now also known as 'Sanshan Stronghold.' It is currently open to the public, and on clear days, visitors have the opportunity to gaze upon Liang Island, Nangan and Beigan, or even coastal islands of mainland China from this vantage point!
