Ethereal Heavenly Sound

Immersed amidst the misty mountains and seas, on the way to Dongyong Lighthouse, the 'Ethereal Heavenly Sound' archway, with its white characters on a red background, stands by the roadside. It is a viewing platform perched atop a majestic giant rock, offering superb panoramic views. Standing on the platform, one can gaze far and wide at the sparkling rocks along the rugged coastline and a vast, magnificent expanse of ocean. During the misty season at the turn of spring and summer, the rain and fog create an enchanting haze, obscuring the rocks. Coupled with the interwoven sounds of the wind and the crashing waves against the coastal rocks, it creates a dreamlike, ethereal illusion, resembling a heavenly realm, hence its name. From here, one can overlook the undulating peaks and ranges of half of Dongyin Island, and also take in the perilous beauty of its sea cliffs and precipitous coastlines, a breathtaking sight that makes visitors linger. If you visit Dongyin during this season (approximately March to May), you should definitely come and experience it for yourself! The Great Drum Lost to the Mortal World – Leigushi (Drumming Rock) Beside the trail leading to Dongyong Lighthouse, there is another small point of interest – Leigushi (Drumming Rock). Leigushi is a massive granite boulder protruding from the mountain wall alongside the trail. Its shape resembles a giant round drum, appearing as if it would emit a deep, resounding drum sound if struck. It is also a unique geological feature of the area.
