Nature's uncanny craftsmanship, like a flood dragon. Located on the eastern beach of Fenghu Cape on the northern coast of Dongyin, below the path next to the gas station, this area faces the wind. Over years, the coastal granite rock formations have been continuously impacted by strong winds and powerful waves, eroding the geology into various marine erosion landforms. Along just a few kilometers of coastline, one can observe sea arches, sea stacks, sea grooves, and sea caves. With magnificent cliffs and expansive views, it is truly an excellent geological classroom. The Haijian Longque (Dragon Gate Appearing from the Sea), located inside Yuanyuanao, is a crevice over ten feet wide and a uniquely shaped sea arch landform. During the foggy season, when waves are stronger, or at high tide, towering waves crash in, and the dark rocks appear and disappear amidst the surges, resembling flood dragons frolicking in the sea. This scene is thus named "Submerged Dragons Stirring the Sea." However, when the wind is calm, the waves are still, or at low tide, only the clear, shallow water within the arch is visible, allowing visitors to appreciate the rich jointing of the rock layers, hence it becomes "Dragon Gate Appearing from the Sea." Besides admiring the unique marine erosion geological landscape here, why not let your imagination run wild? A sea dragon will instantly appear before your eyes! Note: The Haijian Longque is located next to a military base. As national troops are stationed along the coast, visitors are reminded not to get too close to the military camp and to ensure the camp is not in the frame when taking photos. Recommended Viewing Location: To catch a glimpse of the flood dragon, visitors are advised to stand at Fenghu Cape and look down towards Yuanyuanao, viewing the northern coastlines of Dongyin and Xiyin.
